The Construction Industry Training Council of Washington (CITC) has hired Silviu Istrate as its continuing education program assistant. He is the first point of contact for continuing education registrants, will oversee class materials, supplies and work with the State to ensure that course completion information to state appropriate state departments.
Before joining CITC, Istrate worked as a financial aid counselor at Antioch University, a peer advisor and program staffer at Western Washington University, and in shipping and receiving at Everett Community College. He earned his bachelor of arts degree in communications from Western Washington University.
CITC offers Continuing Education courses for apprentices and journey-level workers in Electrical, HVAC and Plumbing either in Washington state classroom locations or online. Continuing Education courses are offered for construction professionals in Washington, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico and Wisconsin. Hundreds of construction professionals enroll in CITC’s continuing educations classes on average per year. In addition, CITC has 282 students registered for classroom and on-the-job apprenticeship and craft training.
Headquartered in Bellevue with a campus in Vancouver, Wash. and satellite programs throughout the State, CITC provides state-approved apprenticeship and craft training in the carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, heavy equipment operator, painting, plumbing, and sheet metal trades. CITC is dedicated to training, developing and retaining a skilled labor force for the construction industry and is both a nationally accredited and state-approved apprenticeship training program.
