Natasha Babayan Youth of the YearThe Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue has selected 18 year old Sammamish High School Senior Natasha Babayan as the 2014 Youth of the Year. Natasha has been a Club member for over 3 years, and participates in a variety of leadership and academic programs at The Club Teen Center including Diplomas 2 Degrees, which helped her secure a teen internship at Microsoft, and serves as the Keystone Club Vice President. She is a commendable example of a teen making positive choices, preparing for the future, and serving as a role model to her peers.

Natasha, along with her exemplary fellow nominees Javonte Henderson and Nathalie Cruz, gave their speeches to their peers and the winner was selected as the local Youth of the Year by a panel of Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue Board members including Robby Tonkin and Dmitry Yusim. Dmitry was chosen as our 2004 Youth of the Year when he was a Club member, and now sits on the board! Long-time supporter Tony Bacon, of the Bacon Family Foundation, was also present handing out Skyline Socks to all the teens. In an excerpt from her speech, Natasha states that The Club, “gave me that same sense of protection and family that I had such a desire to be a part of. This group taught me not only to be a leader, but also to understand the worth of giving back to a community that gave so much to me.” The Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue is incredibly proud to have the Club represented by Natasha when she gives her speech in the statewide Youth of the Year competition this spring where she will compete with representatives from Clubs across the State of Washington.
