It’s also time for those two things to combine in a uniquely Northwest event — the 2013 Northwest Glass Pumpkin Patch tour presented by the Tacoma Glassblowing Studio.
The annual tour will feature more than 2,000 beautiful, hand-blown glass pumpkins created by local artists and displayed at different locations throughout the local region.
This year’s events will be held on seven consecutive Saturdays in September and October according to Jeannine Sigafoos, who along with her husband Mark, are owners of Tacoma Glassblowing Studio — the sponsor of the tour.
“Visitors to the event will see a wide variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and prices starting as low as $35,” Jeannine said. “Each glass pumpkin patch looks like a real pumpkin patch – and you’ll see some of the largest glass pumpkins ever shown.”
The dates and locations of the Saturday glass pumpkin patch events are:
Sept. 14th in Edmonds at the Edmonds Conference Center
Sept. 21st at Mobak’s in Woodinville
Sept. 28th in Gig Harbor at the Uptown Shopping Center
Oct. 5th in Bellevue at the Northwest Art Center
Oct. 12th in Issaquah at the Pickering Barn
Oct. 19th in Tacoma at the Pagoda at Pt. Defiance Park
Oct. 26th in Puyallup at the Pioneer Park Pavilion
Admission to all tour sites is free.
“We hope visitors will enjoy this dazzling array of one-of-a-kind glass pumpkins,” Jeannine said. “The hand-crafted pumpkins are perfect for the Autumn season and are also beautiful enough for year-round display.”
A portion of the proceeds from sales of the pumpkins will be donated to local children’s charities.
