Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzerias are proud to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, by hosting a Swedish Medical Center True Family Women’s Cancer Center “Traveling Pink Chair” during the month of October. All four of the restaurant’s locations will “Celebrate 25 Years of Awareness, Education and Empowerment” by placing a chair and informational poster in a prominent place as a way to inform the public about the new women’s cancer center that will open on Swedish’s First Hill Campus in 2012.
To generate new interest and an increased awareness for the soon-to-be True Family Women’s Cancer Center, Swedish has implemented the “Traveling Pink Chair” campaign in which a pink chair is placed in high-profile locations in the Greater Seattle area. Beginning its journey in February 2010, pink chairs have made appearances at Seattle-area venues including The Paramount, Seattle Art Museum, Center for Wooden Boats, Seattle Arts & Lectures series and Gene Juarez Salon.
“So many of us have had friends and family affected by women’s cancers,” says Joyce Morinaka, Director of Operations at Tutta Bella. “It is an honor for our team to help Swedish in their efforts to bring all cancer doctors into one central location, raise consciousness and needed funds by hosting such an important symbol as the ’Traveling Pink Chair,’ especially during October with its focus on breast cancer, the fifth most common cause of cancer death.”
