Braxton Cleman, the starting running back on the 2001 Washington Huskies winning Rose Bowl team, was so pleased with the results he and his personal training clients were experiencing using the methods of CrossFit, he and some friends recently opened their own gym. CrossFit 425 has been open just a few weeks at 1820 130th Ave NE in Bellevue, but the gym is quickly attracting a loyal base of clients looking to increase their overall level of fitness in a time efficient, and cost effective manner. Cleman has been a personal trainer in the area for a number of years. He started getting really excited about CrossFit when after two months of doing the workouts he was reaching personal bests not seen since his playing days at the UW.
CrossFit workouts are designed to be scalable, making them highly effective for any committed individual regardless of experience. At CrossFit 425, classes are generally led by Cleman, or 20 year fitness training veteran Brent Davidson. The program varies with a different workout each day to optimize results. In recent years, the methods of CrossFit have been adopted as the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies, military special ops units and by hundreds of professional athletes.
